BT SINs sometimes reference documents managed by BABT. For example, BT SIN 227 (Calling Line Identification) references BABT's NV NTR Issue 2.

The following three BTNRs:

BTNR 188 “Digital Private Signalling System No 1 (DPNSS 1)”
BTNR 189 “Interworking Between DPNSS1 and Other Signalling Systems”
BTNR 189I “Interworking Between DPNSS1 and ISDN Signalling Systems”

are published as NICC (Network Interoperability Consultative Committee) Documents ND1301, ND 1302 and ND 1303 respectively. These are available from the NICC website at http://www.nicc.org.uk/

The following BTNRs have not been published as NICC documents, but they have been made available here because they are referenced in SINs, STINs and SPINs:

BTNR 2511 "Interface of Telecommunications Equipment with a Nominal 48 V Negative d.c. Power Supply"
BTNR 181 Vol 1 & Vol 2 "Signalling System AC15"
BTNR 185 "Signalling System MF4 via Private Circuits"
BTNR 190 Vol 1 & Vol 2 "Digital Access Signalling System No 2 (DASS 2) PBX Interface"

What is TIA?

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), formed in 1984 as a result of liberalisation and as the industry counterpart to the Regulator OFCOM, is a non-profit making organisation owned by its members. TIA, the prime national trade association for the telecommunications industry in Great Britain, is committed to improving the competitiveness of Member Companies.

TIA, which has more than 300 member companies, aims to promote business development, customer assurance and business efficiency in the British communications and networking technology industries. It represents and informs its members on British and EU regulatory affairs, standards and policy issues, and acts as the industry's 'self-policeman' providing codes of conduct and practice, dispute resolution and arbitration services. TIA provides a wide range of international trade development and support services through its 'Telecoms Partners' programme.

TIA are official distributors of all telecoms related standards documents: BS, EN, ETSI, ISO/IEC, ANCI, EIA/TIA, etc.
